SEMINAR ON TRANSLATION AND GENDER

SEMINAR ON TRANSLATION AND GENDER
The Centre for Galician Studies has organized a research seminar on Translation and Gender for Wednesday 7th March 4pm (Strathcona LT3). Dr Olga Castro (Aston University) who is a specialist in Gender and Translation Studies will be giving a paper entitled "Translation and Minorities: Gender and National Identities at Stake".

Dr Castro will focus on the political role of translation in the construction of gender and cultural/national identities in the Galician context. This will lead her to critically intertwine the three fields of inquiry crucial to her study – namely, Translation Studies, Feminist Theory and Galician Studies.
