The Centre for Galician Studies of
the University of Birmingham is pleased to invite you to an interactive talk on
Feminist Studies with Dr Olga Castro. A dialogue through which we will be
exploring the meaning of some of the concepts discussed in her last co-authored
book: Feminismos (Feminisms).
Dr Olga Castro is Lecturer in Translation Studies
and Spanish at the Aston University and Vice-president of the International
Association for Galician Studies. The principal direction of her research
concerns the role of translation in the construction of gender and
cultural/nations identities in the field of Hispanic Studies, with a focus on
the Galician context.Feminismos, co-authored with Galician writer and translator María Reimóndez, is a monograph that travels through the many and various feminist movements that have transformed societies worldwide in a peaceful manner.
