FEMINISMOS

The Centre for Galician Studies of the University of Birmingham is pleased to invite you to an interactive talk on Feminist Studies with Dr Olga Castro. A dialogue through which we will be exploring the meaning of some of the concepts discussed in her last co-authored book: Feminismos (Feminisms).

Dr Olga Castro is Lecturer in Translation Studies and Spanish at the Aston University and Vice-president of the International Association for Galician Studies. The principal direction of her research concerns the role of translation in the construction of gender and cultural/nations identities in the field of Hispanic Studies, with a focus on the Galician context.

Feminismos, co-authored with Galician writer and translator María Reimóndez, is a monograph that travels through the many and various feminist movements that have transformed societies worldwide in a peaceful manner.

When? Wednesday, 27th of November, at 1.15 pm

Where? Ashley Building, Room 422

The activity will be conducted in Galician, but it's open to all students and members of staff. We encourage you to come along and give it a try. It can be the perfect occasion to discover Galician.
